Decisions, Decisions???
Merrie Monarch Festival on KITV, or UH men's volleyball vs top ranked UCLA on KFVE? It's times like these I wish I had a VCR. Oh well, I put fresh batteries in the clicker. My thumb is going to get a workout!

As long as you are wishing, try looking at a TIVO instead.
Then you can have your cake and eat it too!

Oh. Man. I so want a Tivo. We gave up digital cable in the hopes of eventually saving up for one. (I sure as heck hope they work in Hawaii.) I've already got all my box hacks planned...
As for what to watch? A volleyball game needs, at least, an occasional score check. Otherwise, Merrie Monarch all the way. (After all, one will soothe your soul. The other might have you on your feet, cursing and yelling!)

Hmmm...I don't know how many have followed my continuing saga of the TV computer card. :) I recently installed an ATI TV Wonder VE into the PC and it works reasonably well. At $40 at CompUSA it was a steal (literally a steal, it's listed at $49 but it got scanned at $39 ::shrug:: ). It was a headache to get to work, but once it did, hooray, I have a TiVO on the PC...

I have a friend who lives in Pearl City who has TIVO. He loves it.
I built my Dad a PC centered around the ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500.. it came with a RF remote that also works like a mouse.. he wont put it down. I dont blame him. After I finished it, I was having so much fun "testing it" that I tried to think up any excuse to postpone delivery.
Being that I'm in Hilo, I'll be watching the Merrie Monarch just to see if I can spot someone I know in the audience.

I know this entry is a bit old but I just wanted to point out that someone has actually built their own TiVO-like unit that runs on Linux.
