Die Another Day
Went to see Die Another Day at the Ward Theatre this afternoon.
To be honest I am more of a Star Trek fan, than I am a 007 fan but I did vote for the 007 movie in our HawaiiStories poll. It was more of a symathy vote than anything else.
The plot line of this movie borrows mostly from Diamonds Are Forever, in fact you get to see those words on a magazine article that concerns one of the characters in the movie.
This movie is an iffy, there are times when both the bad guys and the good guys do something stupid. For instance the bad guy happens to have at his disposal a satellite that can shoot off reflected rays of the sun and use it as a heat ray/laser on targets on Earth. But does he threaten the world with global domanation or extort money from the world governments for not using the weapon on their cities? No. And when he does use it, the United States responds by just launching one missile at the satellite whereby the satellite just takes care of it.
On the good side, we get a stroll through memory lane with the various gadgets that was used in the other movies.
And the car. That was a highlight of the movie, even includes a cloaking device. And it seems that the bad guys also have been watching the older 007 movies too because they counter with their own spy car that can shoot back and there is a battle scene between the two spy cars.
