Posted by Helen at December 03, 2002 06:42 AMPractically every entertainment magazine I picked up (and that's not to say I regularly pick them up) recommended it, but I have to admit, I wasn't compelled to go out of my way to catch it.
These days, if a miniseries is deemed in the final analysis to be great ('24'), I'll just wait to see it on DVD on my own schedule.
Here's a review of 'Taken' from Seattle Post-Intelligencer TV critic John Levesque.
For those looking for a geekier perspective, there's the Slasdot thread.
I am recording all 10 episodes of this mini-series for viewing later. However I don't know when I will find time to sit down and actually watch this stuff.
from Cult of the Dead Cow:
has anyone been watching taken on the sci-fi channel ? it's pretty rad, i recommend it. they're reshowing all of the episodes pretty frequently, so you can still see the first two episodes if you missed them. it's a 20 hour miniseries; ufos, government coverup, contactees...cool concept.
part of it takes place in lubbock. this is funny because the scenes supposedly taking place in lubbock show lots of trees in the background. also, the area is not nearly flat enough. not as bad as the lubbock scenes in the buddy holly story, but close.
