A Winter Epidemic?
Or the result of stress?
A few people I know--including myself--have had really strange dreams. Being a strange fellow, it's not uncommon for me to have weird dreams, but the one I experienced a little over a week ago was unnerving. Recently I discovered others were having "off-center" type sleeping adventures.
I'm curious if this is caused by some sort of mischievous hand of Goddess Winter or may it just be the stress of gift shopping and party-making.
Have any of you recently experienced strange dreams?

I've had 3 strange dreams in the past 3 days. First one was Christmas tree eating people on the tree (I know, I know, horrible dream, or just plain stupid). Second was about an avalanche coming down and trapping several children. I'm sure this had to do with mudslide in California. Then last night I had a strage dream about being in a commerical where I had to appear mostly naked while eating corn and squash. I don't even know what product the commercial was for, really. But I do love corn and squash, so it wasn't a bad dream as much as a strange dream.
Put my vote in for stress.

And I thought I was the only one.
Lately I've been having a lot of weird dreams. The one that occurs most often places me at work all alone with a restaurant full of customers. They have all kinds of demands and I am scrambbling to serve them all at once. Last night was the first time my customers appeared in animation. They all looked like Homer Simpson but each was a little different. Most of them were ordeing the Grilled Pork Chops..
"Mmmm, Pork Chops."

Eerie. I almost never remember my dreams. But I definitely have been stressed out lately, and the other night I had a dream that I was running a marathon... then remembered halfway out that I was supposed to graduate that day, and had to turn around.
Except that when I turned around, it was all uphill, and I was scrambling nearly on my hands and knees while an old man kept pace with me without even trying.
I finally woke up, realizing that my heavy breathing in my dream was my actual breathing, and I was wired until morning. I'm sure there's some meaning in it all (how much more metaphorical can you get than a race?), but I'm too tired to think about it right now.

Thank you all for sharing. I've mentioned this to other friends and relatives and some of them also have had weird dreams.
It seems that it's both. The cold and stress. Pretty nuts.
As for me, the dreams have calmed a bit. No demons and grisly imagery. Just weird things like driving an invisible car and flying by holding a paper airplane.

Yeah - I dreamed I had dinner with Saddam Hussein and his family in his Manoa home. My mom was sitting on the carpet with my nephew, and Saddam was in his olive-colored military uniform. He seemed calm and peaceful, and the whole event was eerily cozy. Yet, underneath my skin, I was so conflicted. I wanted to be as nice as I could because my family was there and to avoid being killed, if Saddam sensed my doubts. I knew he was a perceptive guy, so I didn't want him to read my mind. I remember being disturbed that I was being chummy with a guy that slaughtered so many people. It was the strangest mixture of feelings. I was planning to get to work at 8 a.m. that morning, but the dream left me so exhausted because of the emotional requirement that I ended up sleeping some of the exhaustion away and going to work at 9 a.m.

Thank goodness! My husband and I moved here 2 years ago and have had weird dreams ever since - enough to mention to my doctor. What is it?

Depends. Where exactly in the islands do you live? :) Consult any Glen Grant book for leads.
